They are waterproof for use in wet conditions and come complete with a knitted wrist for added comfort and protection. Please note that if your hand comes into direct contact with a chainsaw, no glove will provide complete protection. There is still a high risk of serious injury.
Which Size Glove is Right For Me?
When operating any form of machinery, it's important that what is protecting your hands doesn't slip or require readjusting. Thankfully and for that reason, picking the correct size for you is made easy.
Simply measure the circumference and length of your palm and hand (ignoring the thumb area) as demonstrated on the diagram below. When you have your measurement, please consult the table beneath to find the size for you. If your measurement falls on a sizing boundary, we recommend you take a size up for a less constricted fit.
Size | Circumference of Palm (mm) | Palm Length (mm) | Min. Length of Glove (mm) |
Small | 203mm | 182mm | 240mm |
Medium | 229mm | 192mm | 250mm |
Large | 254mm | 204mm | 260mm |
Extra Large | 279mm | 215mm | 270mm |

Level of Protection
When operating a chainsaw, it's vital and essential that you wear an adequate pair of gloves. Wearing normal safety gloves that don't offer the degree of protection you need could result in serious injury.
Regulations require gloves sold as safety or protective wear to pass a number of stringent tests to prove their standard and compliance. View the information below for a brief description of these regulations and to see how Cutter CW400 Gloves performed when tested:
EN 381-7
EN 381-7 governs gloves sold in Europe as chainsaw protective. Whilst no glove can guarantee protection against a high-power machine like a chainsaw, gloves certified for use under EN 381-7 are deemed compliant based on the layering of their fabric and how it protects against a high-speed chain in the event of an accident. Please view the table below to see the EN 381-7 rating for Cutter CW400 Chainsaw Gloves.
Standard | Resistance Level |
EN 381-7 Chainsaw Certified PPE | Certified |

Why Buy Cutter CW400 Gloves?
If you are using a chainsaw, it's imperative you wear the right gloves. Cutter CW400 are waterproof and certified for use as a pair of chainsaw protective gloves. Made from Cordura and cow-grain leather, they are made with 14 different layers of heavy-duty fabric for the highest level of protection. They are incredibly durable, making them suitable for a range of outdoor tasks. Double stitched fabric ensures a dexterity friendly fit, meaning they will never intrude on your work.
How Does a CW400 Glove Protect Against a Chainsaw?
Cutter CW400 Chainsaw Gloves will use specially designed fibres to jam the chain of a chainsaw once the exterior fabric of the glove comes into contact with it. The glove is packed with this special fabric compound so that, should an accident happen, your hands are protected from the chain. The chainsaw sprocket is ideally locked in place, preventing the chain from circulating any further. Cutter CW400 Gloves have an additional leather strip across the knuckles for added protection.
Who Can Use Cutter CW400 Gloves?
Whilst Cutter CW400 Gloves are specifically designed for use when operating a chainsaw, their incredibly durable design makes them perfect for a wide range of outdoor tasks. See below for a list of relevant and suitable professions and environments:
How Long Will Cutter Chainsaw Gloves Last?
Made from tough and durable cow-grain leather, these gloves are built to last. They are double stitched and waterproof in order to prevent water from eroding the leather fabric from the inside. A Cordura layer also lines the glove, giving it a flexible and tough exterior casing. As chainsaw gloves, they are highly resistant to everyday scuffs and marks and will provide amazing protection when gardening or working with timber and wood.
Are Cutter Gloves Comfortable?
Their smooth cow-grain leather composition gives Cutter CW400 Chainsaw Gloves a snug, close-fitting feel. Despite 14 layers of material designed to protect your hands, the gloves themselves do not feel heavy or intrusive. The combination of ample finger space and doubled stitched lightweight Cordura fabric lining the gloves reduces the chance of skin irritation and makes for an ultra-comfortable wear.
