Cutter CW500 Amara Men's Synthetic Leather Professional Winter Chainsaw Gloves
Cutter CW500 Amara Men's Synthetic Leather Professional Winter Chainsaw Gloves are the perfect option for anyone operating a chainsaw in an agricultural or forestry environment. Ideal for use through winter due to the inclusion of 3M Thinsulate insulation, CW500 gloves are a European Regulation certified pair of chainsaw gloves protecting your hands from chain speeds of 16 metres per second.
Made with Amara synthetic leather, they have a luxurious feel, providing comfort and safety in equal measure.
Please note that no protective glove is guaranteed to protect you in the event of an accident. There is always risk of injury when operating a chainsaw.
Which Size is Right For Me?
When operating any form of machinery, it's important that what is protecting your hands doesn't slip or require readjusting. Thankfully, picking the correct size for you is easy.
Simply measure the circumference and length of your palm and hand (ignoring the thumb area) as demonstrated in the diagram below. When you have your measurement, please consult the table beneath to find the size for you. If your measurement falls on a sizing boundary, we recommend you take a size up for a less constricted fit.
Size | Circumference of Palm (mm) | Length of Hand (mm) |
Size 8 (Small) | 203mm | 182mm |
Size 9 (Medium) | 229mm | 192mm |
Size 10 (Large) | 254mm | 204mm |
Size 11 (Extra Large) | 279mm | 215mm |
Level of Protection
When operating a chainsaw, it's vital and essential that you wear an adequate pair of gloves. Wearing normal safety gloves that don't offer the degree of protection you need could result in serious injury.
European Regulations require gloves sold as safety or protective wear to pass a number of stringent tests to prove their standard and compliance. View the information below for a brief description of these regulations and to see how Cutter CW500 Gloves performed when tested:
EN 388
EN 388 is a European Regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves performance for use when working in and around mechanical machinery based on abrasion, blade cut, tear and puncture resistance. Please see the table below for a look at the level of protection Cutter CW500 Gloves offer:
Standard | Resistance Level |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 1 |
Blade Cut Resistance | Level 1 |
Tear Resistance | Level 2 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 2 |

EN 381-7
EN 381-7 governs the sale of gloves claiming to protect you in the event of an accident involving a chainsaw. Whilst no glove can guarantee protection against a high-power machine like a chainsaw, gloves certified for use under EN 381-7 are deemed compliant for wear and protection against cuts from a chainsaw chain moving at 16 metres per second.

Why Buy Cutter CW500 Gloves?
Cutter CW500 Chainsaw Gloves are a thermally insulted pair of protective gloves, making them ideal for use all year round when operating a chainsaw. They have reinforced PVC patches on the palms to enhance grip strength and stability and are packed with specially formulated fibres capable of jamming a chainsaw chain in the event of an accident. They are also incredibly comfortable. Manufactured with elasticated, knitted wrists and available in four different sizes, you are sure to fight the perfect size for you.
3M Thinsulate Insulation
Cutter CW500 Gloves are lined with 3M Thinsulate insulation to ensure warm hands during the winter. Thinsulate technology is a thin insulation fabric used to trap heat and retain warmth. It mimics down when dry and is actually warmer than down when wet, ensuring your hands stay stable and warm when operating your chainsaw in colder climates and conditions.
How Do CW500 Gloves Protect You Against a Chainsaw?
Cutter CW500 Chainsaw Gloves will use specially designed fibres to jam the chain of a chainsaw once the exterior fabric of the glove comes into contact with it. The gloves are packed with this special fabric compound so that, should an accident happen, your hands are protected from the chain. The chainsaw sprocket is ideally locked in place once these fibres are released, preventing the chain from circulating any further and moving toward your hand.
Who Can Use CW500 Winter Gloves?
Whilst Cutter CW500 Gloves are specifically designed for use when operating a chainsaw, their incredibly durable design makes them perfect for a wide range of outdoor tasks. See below for a list of relevant and suitable professions and environments:
How Long Will These Gloves Last?
Made with high-quality Amara synthetic leather, these gloves require very little maintenance in comparison to real leather, which can require regular treating. Amara faux-leather does not crack and is stain resistant, unlike some forms of genuine leather. Specifically manufactured for use in forest and agricultural settings during the colder months, these gloves are both warm and comfortable.
