Suitable Applications and Environments
Due to their incredible cut resistance and 250°C contact heat protection, X5-Sumo Gloves have a massive scope for application in hazardous workplaces. Please see below for a few suitable examples:
How do X5-Sumo Gloves Protect Your Hands?
UCi X5-Sumo Gloves use a combination Kevlar and enhanced X5 high tenacity aramid yarn to prevent blades from breaking through their tightly woven steel core. The tip of a blade becomes jammed between the fibres, preventing it from going any further.
Incredible Cut Resistance
Level E is the second highest awarded certification for cut resistance. This means in excess of a massive 30 newtons of downward force would have to be applied to show signs of damage on the glove.
Contact Heat Protection
Another incredible property of UCi Sumo Gloves is that they allow you to handle heated material of up to 250°C for up to 15 seconds. This means the fast transfer of blacksmithing metal, stones, material and blocks is possible without having to take off and change gloves for something heat resistant.
Latex Coating Benefits
Latex is a thin, flexible and incredibly durable coating. It is also cost-efficient, meaning gloves that use it are affordable and good value for money whilst remaining high quality. Latex coating gloves tend to have a higher puncture and tear resistance than nitrile ones.
Palm Only Coating
A palm only coating is an excellent choice for those wearing gloves for long periods. This is because the back of the glove remains uncovered, allowing the hand to breath and let out odours and smells naturally as you perspire throughout the day.
Kevlar Lined Steel Core
Kevlar is a synthetic blend of fibres that are tightly packed and spun together until there is very little space between them. Commonly used in stab and bullet proof vests, Kevlar has become the industry standard for cut-resistant protective wear.
"Sanitized" Fabric Sanitation
The Sanitized fabric hygiene system helps to reduce the growth and spread of microorganisms that are particularly problematic, such as clostridia and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This is particularly beneficial to work gloves because of the build up sweat and the risk of cross contamination from hand to face throughout the day.
