Mechanical Hazard Resistance
These ratings show that UCi WGR Gloves have excellent all round mechanical hazard resistance. They will protect against bumps, scrapes, abrasions and cuts thanks to their heavy set leather design.
Wide Range of Heat and Flame Protection
They also protect against flame, heat and molten splash. Whilst wearing them you can hold material of a temperature up to 100°C for fifteen seconds. They will also withstand the transfer of heat from an open flame for up to 10 seconds.
This shows that they are best deployed when handling heated material and protecting against splashes of metal, as you would find in a blacksmithing, welding or foundry environment.
Suitable Applications
Thanks to their combination heat and mechanical protections, UCi WGR Gloves have a wide range of professional and personal applications. See below for a few examples:
How Do UCi WGR Gauntlet Gloves Protect Your Hands?
UCi WGR Welding Gauntlet Gloves use a thick flat leather design to cover the maximum amount of surface area possible. The fingertips are thick and thanks to an extended cuff, the wrist and lower forearm area are protected from splashing. The seams are welted and self-hemmed to prevent harmful substances and liquids seeping in through the stitching.
Extended Cuff Benefits
It is vital that your entire wrist is protected when working around flame, fire and heated material. An extended cuff is beneficial for a number of reasons. Firstly it prevents harmful ashes, dirt, splashing and debris from entering the glove at the wrist, ensuring that your hands stay protected.
Secondly, it cradles the natural curve of the wrist, preventing and delaying the onset of ailments like hand fatigue and strain.
