Protection Ratings
Please view the information and tables below to find out more about what UCi Chemically Resistant Gloves do to protect your hands.
EN 374
EN 374-1 is a European regulation governing the sale of chemical resistant garments. It uses a series of tests to award a glove a rating based on the penetration, degradation and permeation resistance of the garment.
Please view the table below to see a list of the chemicals these gloves are resistant to:
- Methanol
- Sodium Hydroxide (40%)
- Sulphuric Acid (96%)
EN 511
EN 511 governs the sale of gloves that provide cold weather protection. There are a range of tests involved, as detailed in the table below:
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Convective Cold | Level 1 |
Contact Cold | Level 2 |
Permeability | Level 1 |
EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves performance when used whilst working in and around mechanical machinery by measuring abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
Standard | Resistance Level |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | Level 1 |
Tear Resistance | Level 2 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 1 |
ISO Cut Resistance | N/A |

Suitable Applications and Environments
Chemically resistant gloves are designed for use in laboratories, however due to their high level of substance and liquid resistance, they have wide scope for other professional and personal applications. Please view the list below for a few examples:
Extended Wrist Cuff
UCi R430 Gloves use an extended, larger than standard cuff to protect more of the hand and wrist. This area is also double dipped in PVC, ensuring that unlike with gloves using a knitted fabric cuff, protection isn't compromised in the area. An extended cuff also prevents dirt, debris and liquid entering the glove at the wrist.
PVC Coating Benefits
PVC is a highly grease, oil and fat proof coating. It is entirely waterproof and when double dipped it forms an even thicker layer, preventing any liquids or harmful substances from entering the glove. PVC is especially useful in applications where liquids and other substances are handled due to its natural waterproofing.
REACH Compliancy
REACH is a piece of UK legislation which deals with the protection of people when dealing with chemicals. REACH requires manufactures and employers to educate themselves on the dangers and hazards related to chemical handling. R430 Gloves have been manufactured and sold in accordance with this legislation.
What Style Coating Do R430 Gloves Use?
The entire surface area of UCi R430 Gloves is double dipped in PVC. The palm and fingers are triple dipped with a non-slip coating to enhance grip strength and stability, ensuring that drops, slips and grip fatigue are a thing of the past.
Fabric Sanitation Formulation
The "Sanitized" fabric hygiene system helps to reduce the growth and spread of micro-organisms that are particularly problematic, such as clostridia and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This is particularly beneficial to work gloves because of the build up sweat and the risk of cross contamination from hand to face throughout the day.
Ultimate Industrial have partnered with "Sanitized" to reduce this risk and manufacture gloves that not only provide all the protection you'd expect, but that keep your hands hygienic and odour free too.
