EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves performance when used whilst working in and around mechanical machinery by measuring abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Standard | Resistance Level |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 4 |

Incredible Cut Protection
Level F cut resistance is the highest rating that can be awarded. It means a glove can withstand in excess of an incredible 30 newtons of downward force before showing signs of wear or damage. This ensures your hands are protected against accidental blade slips, saw cuts, incisions and cuts that are common on construction and building sites.
Benefits of a Nitrile Coating
Kutlass Ultra-NF Gloves use a foam nitrile coating to suck up oil, dirt and grease which otherwise prevent you forming a tight, stable grip. Foam nitrile gloves are unrivalled in their protection against liquids.
Foam nitrile acts like a sponge and is oil and water resistant, preventing long term exposure to these liquids from eroding a glove. It is also three times more puncture resistant than rubber.
